TOM FORD has partnered with 52HZ on The Tom Ford Plastic Innovation Prize in the commitment to ocean health, to coincide with the launch of the first-ever ethical luxury timepiece. The Prize aims to accelerate meaningful innovation around a replacement for thin-film plastic and steer the global community toward a historic turning point in the fight against plastic pollution.
The Tom Ford Ocean Plastic Timepiece; the very first luxury timepiece made from 100% ocean plastic marks the start of the brand’s commitment to addressing the need to keep our oceans cleaner. Every Tom Ford Ocean Plastic Timepiece purchased permanently removes the equivalent of 35 bottles of plastic waste from the ocean, with all packaging being recyclable. This Swiss-made watch was developed and produced in partnership with suppliers who are equally committed to finding solutions to the world’s plastic problem. “In my opinion, ethical luxury is THE greatest luxury of all,” Ford says. “The Tom Ford customer is sophisticated with a heightened awareness of the issues facing our planet and the responsibility we have to protect it. Sustainability is a key issue in our lives right now. In particular, the amount of ocean plastic that we are generating is perhaps taking the greatest toll on our environment of all.”
TOM FORD 002 OCEAN PLASTIC WATCH $995
The Tom Ford Ocean Plastic Timepiece is the evolution of the TOM FORD N.002 Timepiece collection launched in Spring 2019. Designed with the same timeless round silhouette, the Swiss-made Timepiece features a 40mm case made from 100% ocean plastic, with a black DLC stainless steel screw case back. With water-resistant construction of 10 ATM/ 330 ft, this timepiece is completed with the TOM FORD signature braided strap, engineered and woven out of 100% ocean plastic.
The Tom Ford Ocean Plastic timepiece will retail for $995 and will be available at TOM FORD boutiques worldwide, as well as online at tomford.com starting in November 2020.
