In our Summer and Autumn 2018 Issues, we featured many of the trainers and fitness experts in the New York metro area who run and train at the best fitness and health and wellness brands in the nation. Those features got the attention of an amazing men’s fitness apparel brand called RHONE and they invited me to join a crew of New York’s top trainers and athletes for frequent group fitness meetups. These classes have been motivating for me as I move beyond just getting back in shape and living a more active lifestyle heading into 2019. We want to thank the RHONE team and the guys from these classes who are not only superb athletes but also some of the most authentic men we have met since starting MAN OF METROPOLIS in 2015.
Set in TriBeCa Switch Playground is a full body workout lead by multiple staff during the circuit training. SWITCH incorporates cutting-edge fitness technology with state-of-the-art facilities, lighting, and sound for what is an industry first, group fitness environment. An Instructor leads the HIIT class with a team of highly skilled Trainers through a labyrinth of Playground activities. A live DJ fuels the energy, coupled with lighting and special effects. One of the toughest workouts out there is Barrys. This session was lead by trainers Casey Fields and Erick Wilson at the Chelsea, New York location and was packed with elite athletes from all 5 boroughs of Manhattan and beyond. We were joined by Rhone CEO, Nate Checketts to meet in the red room for a power hour of testing our physical and mental limits. A Barry’s class can burn up 1,000 calories or more. It tones muscle, and boosts your resting metabolism, so you continue burning calories after the class is over. They combine weight training with cardio and alternate bursts of intense anaerobic exercise with recovery periods to keep the heart rate elevated throughout the workout. You’ll burn more calories and increase your lean body mass, which in turn will raise your resting metabolic rate by up to 15 percent.

We met up with George Foreman III, yes the son of THE George Foreman at his gym Everybody Fights. The Rhone team brought a crew of savage fighters to this workout with of over 20+ circuit stops for an hour of grueling cardio, lifting, and boxing. Checkout more from the video by McCarthy Vision.
